I had a blast figuring out how to work in UnrealEngine 5 definitely an interesting change of pace from Blender. Since Unreal is a game engine first, it offers a different workflow compared to software designed specifically for 3D animation. It was also really fast to be able to see high-quality renders in real time.

Nanite and Runtime Virtual Textures (RVT) made it quite easy to create somewhat realistic(esh) scenes, especially by blending mesh textures with the ground. Being able to displace the terrain based on materials using Nanite, which was super useful.

Also I learned a lot in maya trying to animate a realistic bird animation, mostly on timing and body-mechanics. I feel like that I could have done more work on the end of the animation where the bird still feels quite mechanical. So next animation I'll be more focused on looking better at my reference footage ツ .
